About Me
My name is Brianna Wimer, and I am currently a senior at The University of Alabama. I will be receiving my BS in Computer Science July 31st, 2021. After that I have ecstatically accepted my offer to the Ph.D. Program within the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. My research interests are in Human-Computer Interaction and Assisstive Technology.
About My Mentor
My mentor this summer is Dr. Ronald Metoyer from the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the University of Notre Dame. His research interests are Human-Computer Interaction and Information Visualization
About My Project
The HCI Lab has recently begun a project called Food Information Networks(FINs) to use technological innovation for food dessert access issues. For this summer, I will be assessing literature and survey how food information is currently communicated through online grocery stores. Then, we will be developing a visual narrative of a ‘food story’ to communicate the important facts to a consumer such as ingredients, nutrition, branding, prices, portion sizes, etc.
